various - visionary beats vol.1 ( new vision america ) :
the first release on the american division of new vision sets the stage for what's to come.
opening it up is eidetic with 'train 1'. this one's a steppy number with gigantic beats
and carnival ride keys. then glo lab provides some nice little beat programming with 'x47':
lush pads rise and fall harmoniously while digital blurps and bleeps patter against
some subtle, yet finely crafted drums.
great progression! next up is red math with 'tokyo' - this one could easily rock out a floor
with its chopped breaks and buzzing b-lines. nommo ogo provides a nine minute,
dark and moody journey into sound with 'the blood red game' and j.dub & system error
step up to rock with a super speedy dance floor style roll out. emptyhead squeezes out
some infectious melodies and tight twin step with 'flat affect'.
rareform remixes their own 'ode to the enemy' and provides 'ode to the amen... i probably don't
even have to tell you what that's all about and wrapping it up nicely is adam pfe with his crazy
rollercoaster ride through loops and chops and genres (i can't even sum this one up in a few
sentences, ya just gotta listen to it!).
